Camping Pals Espagne
Spain, Costa Brava
The picturesque village of PALS is perched on a hill 3 km from the coast and offers a charming setting for your holidays on the Costa Brava and a high point of observation on the coast.
THE MEDIEVAL VILLAGE (9th century)
Place of defense in the Middle Ages, the village was built as a fortress. Today, there are essentially remains of the Château de Pals.
The church, built more than 1000 years ago, is entirely made of stones from the destroyed castle.
The Tower of Hours (Romanesque style, 12th century) and the Mirador Josep Pla are among the best preserved buildings: the panoramic view of the Medes Islands is captivating.
In the old town there is also an archaeological museum.
Let yourself get lost in the cobbled and flowery streets of the historic center of the city, from door to door, through the shops, pottery... the walk is exotic and worth the detours.
ENVIRONMENT & TRADITIONS
Nature lovers will enjoy walking the trails of Parc de Montgri, a preserved wetland in Catalonia, ideal for observing migratory birds.
The local environment is very favorable to the exploitation of rice fields, and every year, the inhabitants celebrate the Rice Festival from mid-April to mid-May, on the occasion of sowing.
In October, on the occasion of the harvest, it is again the occasion of a local festival.
The summer period is not to be outdone, because in August, a wine fair is held in Pals, as well as a special nocturnal evening, the Nuit d'Espelmes, during which the village is essentially lit up with 10,000 candles and where everyone enjoys the evening on the terrace.
BEACHES
The beaches are 3 km from the village, and only 450 meters from the Interpals campsite. The coastal walks will take you on customs paths, on the seafront, to discover the surrounding seaside resorts: Begur, Palafrugell, Tamariu, and 10km away, the fortified town of Peratallada.
GIRONA - BARCELONA
Plan, during your stay, to devote a day to Barcelona (130km), or to Girona, to discover the urban face of Spain and the dynamism of these cities.
